What is Radial Wave Therapy?

Radial Wave Therapy is a non-invasive treatment for soft tissue injuries that provides pain relief and therapeutic healing. The radial wave delivers acoustic energy directly to the injured tissue. This energy is transmitted radially through the surface of the skin into the body.

Radial energy affects the injured area on a cellular level, breaking up calcified deposits and penetrating tendons and ligaments. The body regenerates new healthy tissue resulting in faster healing and a quicker return to your normal day to day activities.

Mattison Podiatry Group offers this specialized therapy since it is also effective in eliminating pain by stimulating the release of substances that help block pain receptors.

  • Chronic Heel Pain (aka Plantar Fasciitis)
  • Achilles Tendonitis
  • Morton's Neuroma
  • Shin splints
  • Bursitis

Short term treatment for long term effect

In general, four treatments are necessary, approximately 4-7 days apart. Some patients experience an initial increase in symptoms after the 1st and 2nd treatment. By the third and fourth treatment, the 'new blood flow' (aka Neo-revascularization) to the tissues begin to have a positive effect. Six weeks after the fourth treatment, maximum improvement should be noted. Literature supports a greater than 90% success rate for treating conditions such as plantar fasciitis, Achilles tendonitis, neuromas, and bursitis.

Treatments are simple, easy, and fast

Treatments last 5-7 minutes, and there is no anesthesia required. You can resume wearing your regular shoes the same day.
